about

The debut full length album of the pioneer Chicago sub-underground power trio: magnesium. Inventors of smooth metal and purveyors of industrial funk, this band existed from 1999 to 2001 with a brief resurgence in 2004 in San Francisco. This album never got a proper release. Here it is now, still ahead of its time and outside of any proper category, we are relatively certain it can be called rock music. Primary musical influences include: Primus, Hendrix Experience, Funkadelic, Cream, Elmore James, Buddy Guy and electric-era Miles. This is the 2nd release in the "zeroth law Archival Re-release Project": the back catalog of compositions and recordings from reed renegade Cornelius Boots, founder of Edmund Welles: the bass clarinet quartet.
